Community invited to attend Refugio Oil Response Open House
The community is invited to attend the Refugio Oil Response Open House scheduled to be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., in Goleta, California, Saturday.
The community open house will be free to the public and will provide information regarding the Refugio oil spill response. Numerous booths with technical experts will be set up to provide information including environmental impacts, cleanup and monitoring, public health and safety, volunteer opportunities, and animal rescue and rehabilitation. Members of the community will have the opportunity to learn about the ongoing response, pose questions to responders and voice their concerns.
Experts and responders from the U.S. Coast Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, California Office of Emergency Services, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Office of Spill Prevention and Response, Santa Barbara County Emergency Management, City of Santa Barbara and City of Goleta are expected to attend.
The open house will be held in the Elks Lodge #613, at 150 North Kellogg Ave., Goleta, CA 93111.
